This project demonstrates the full process of creating a game scene. Start with a single prompt, we expand from there and enrich the storytelling by texturing and modeling. Due to the freedom in this project, I am able to design the game space, create multiple game assets, and utilize digital assets.
Concept & Ideation
The idea is that the building is an art studio with one gallery side and one messy creative workspace, I created a simple scene in Maya and demonstrated the building can revolve for better views, as well as protection.
Major Assets & Design
Since the building is being separated into two areas, there is a teleport in the middle zone, enriching the background story.
In order to make the space more interesting, I chose the sunken the area a little bit and put the skylights on the roof.
Digital Assets
Cabinets
Procedural cabinets are to fill up space, the style of interior and furniture is minimalistic with IKEA-style furniture, so a procedural cabinet system is beneficial.
Terrains & Pillars
There are two extreme weathers on this planet, hot desert and cold tundra. On the cold tundra, there are unique geographic features, and huge stone pillars, which are also procedurally generated using Houdini.
