Viking Settlement
A quiet world, built through procedural thinking.
An early-spring settlement combining a Houdini cabin generator, Gaea terrain and real-time environment art in Unreal Engine 5.

02 / Shape the landscape
Terrain built in Gaea and brought into Unreal Engine 5 forms the setting for the village. The terrain study shows the large landforms before the final scene assembly.
01 / Establish the settlement
The early blockout places simple cabin forms around the water. Read the two stages together: from massing and spacing to the first pass on the buildings.
03 / Build a procedural cabin
The Houdini house generator connects procedural modeling with environment assembly. Watch the original generator recording, then see the cabins placed together in the Unreal scene.
04 / Refine the thatch
A dedicated roof pass explores the layered thatch, its silhouette and how it reads on the cabin. These close-ups document the progression from visible individual pieces to the denser roof treatment.
